HCIA-Access Training
5 Days
Course Overview
The HCIA-Access course is a 5-day technical program focused on the 'last mile' of telecommunications. It covers the transition from traditional copper-based technologies (xDSL, G.fast) to modern high-speed Fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) solutions using GPON and 10G GPON. Participants will master the architecture of Optical Access Networks, including Optical Line Terminals (OLT) and Optical Network Units (ONU), while gaining practical skills in service provisioning, VLAN management, and ODN (Optical Distribution Network) maintenance. This course is the starting point for engineers aiming to deploy and maintain high-bandwidth broadband services for residential and enterprise customers.
Course Outcomes
- Identify the components and position of an access network within a larger telecom ecosystem.
- Explain the working principles of GPON, XG-PON, and XGS-PON technologies.
- Perform basic configurations on Huawei OLTs and ONUs using the CLI.
- Understand how to mitigate crosstalk in copper lines using Vectoring and G.fast.
- Design and provision broadband services using VLANs, PPPoE, and DHCP.
- Calculate ODN link budgets and perform basic fiber link testing.
- Use Huawei NMS tools like eSight and NCE to manage and monitor access devices.
- Troubleshoot common connectivity issues between the OLT and user equipment.
