Course Overview

The HCIA-5G-Security Solution course is a 5-day professional program designed to address the unique vulnerabilities of the 5G era. As networks transition to cloud-native architectures and Service-Based Architecture (SBA), traditional perimeter security is no longer sufficient. This course provides an in-depth look at 3GPP security standards (R15–R17), the NESAS/SCAS certification frameworks, and the specialized security mechanisms required for network slicing and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). Participants will learn to build a multi-layered defense strategy—covering infrastructure, network functions, and user data—to protect against sophisticated cyber threats in a virtualized telecom environment.

Course Outcomes

  • Identify the security enhancements introduced in 3GPP Releases 15, 16, and 17.
  • Explain the role of the SEPP in protecting inter-PLMN signaling (roaming security).
  • Describe the process of de-concealing a SUCI (Subscription Concealed Identifier) to protect user privacy.
  • Implement effective isolation between network slices to prevent cross-slice data leakage.
  • Apply security hardening measures to MEC edge nodes and cloud-based NFV infrastructure.
  • Understand the NESAS/SCAS framework for evaluating the trustworthiness of network equipment.
  • Design and maintain a secure 5G O&M environment with robust access control and monitoring.
