Course Overview

The HCIA-5G-RAN V3.0 is a 5-day professional course focused on the deployment, operation, and optimization of the 5G Radio Access Network. Unlike general 5G courses, this curriculum is deeply technical, covering the physical layer, base station hardware (Huawei 5900 series), and field-testing methodologies. Participants will gain hands-on experience in commissioning gNodeBs (5G base stations) and conducting Drive Tests (DT) using the GENEX tool suite. This course is essential for engineers responsible for the physical rollout and radio performance verification of 5G networks, ensuring they can achieve high-speed coverage and low-latency reliability in real-world environments.

Course Outcomes

  • Understand the 5G NR physical layer and signaling processes for NSA and SA modes.
  • Install and configure Huawei 5900 series base station hardware and boards (UMPT, UBBP).
  • Successfully commission a gNodeB using both local and remote operation methods.
  • Optimize radio network performance using RRM, MIMO, and power control features.
  • Conduct professional 5G drive tests using GENEX Probe to collect high-fidelity data.
  • Analyze field test data with GENEX Assistant to identify coverage holes and interference.
  • Perform single-site verification (SSV) to ensure new sites meet commercial deployment standards.
  • Troubleshoot common RAN faults related to access, handover, and data rates.
