Course Overview

The HCIA-5G-Core V1.0 is a 5-day novice-level course that explores the 'brain' of the 5G network. It covers the shift from the traditional 4G Evolved Packet Core (EPC) to the cloud-native 5G Service-Based Architecture (SBA). Participants will gain a deep understanding of core network evolution, including NSA (Non-Standalone) and SA (Standalone) deployment options, network slicing, and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). The course also provides technical training on Huawei-specific 5G SA core products like the UNC, UDM, and UDG, focusing on routine maintenance and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) in a virtualized, cloud-based environment.

Course Outcomes

  • Differentiate between 5G NSA and SA networking options and identify evolution paths.
  • Explain the components and benefits of Service-Based Architecture (SBA).
  • Describe how 5G Network Slicing creates virtualized networks for different industry needs (eMBB, URLLC, mMTC).
  • Understand the deployment of Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) for ultra-low latency.
  • Master the signaling procedures for 5G user registration and session establishment.
  • Operate and maintain Huawei 5G Core products including the UNC, UDG, and UDM.
  • Execute routine O&M tasks such as alarm tracing, performance analysis, and health checks in an NFV environment.
